Description

Well now, without further ado let’s talk about this amazing yarn that Susan Crawford has created for us! Wold yarn is a unique blend of Hampshire, Blue Faced Leicester and white Shetland wools, 100% British wools, spun in nearby Yorkshire, to create a soft, bouncy fibre, with 4 plys spun tightly to create the perfect yarn for crochet. This gorgeous yarn is currently exclusive to us but with wider release planned in the future.  We are so excited to be able to send you such luxury!  You have 50g skeins in “Coral” and “Moss” and a 25g skein in “Buttermilk”

We love the flat handled bamboo hooks and we’re sending you a 3mm version to make Betty with!  We’re also including a bodkin safely tucked into a felt ball so you can deal with all those ends without having to leave the sofa to find a needle!

As we mentioned in our introduction, we think Betty is a year-round beret but if you really want to give her a festive twist, why not pin on the cute enamel brooch we’ve popped in the box for you?  Full of Christmas kitsch, we just couldn’t resist it!

Likewise the retro bunting: it just conjured up images of tea rooms, Christmas cake and Bing crooning in the background!  Perfect!  Hang it somewhere to make you smile while you crochet!

More is more when it comes to stitch markers and this month we’re super lucky to have stitch markers from Beth at Koruclay AND Liz and KoPo UK!  Beth has made us this very handy stitch marker to pop on to your work and remind you what size hook you’re using and Liz has provided the beautiful baubles!  Aren’t they gorgeous?  Find more of these talented girls’ work at https://koruclaystudio.co.uk/ and https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/KoPoUK  respectively.

We are so lucky this year to have benefited from the wonderful artistic talents of Nic Allen who has designed our beautiful postcards and notebooks and it’s a joy to include her lovely festive design in this box.  Nic’s work is gorgeous, do go and see at https://www.nicallan.co.uk/

We cannot finish this little section without mentioning our wonderful long-term collaborators and friends Morgan Leadbitter from Nunet  and Kayti Peschke!  Morgan makes the boxes for us, in Dorset in the UK and has since the very beginning. Kayti is the clever person behind these booklets, she makes them look gorgeous and not only that, she provided the artwork for this beautiful box which we absolutely love.  They are both superstars and we are lucky to work with them!

So that is all for now, please have a wonderful cosy time creating Betty!
